“He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.” (Psalm 104:2-3)
Drifting above the world.
As light as air…
Meeting the heavens…
Riding the wind.
Sailing through a cloud…
Let it capture your imagination.
A balloon set free…
When the hand releases it, where does it go?
It beckons the eyes—up, up, up.
We try to capture the freedom; attach a basket to the balloon.
The night sky lights up with the glow.
Eyes turn upward.
Bright colors against sky satisfy.
Shimmer of light on water whispers of an untold journey.
The promise, so beautiful, fills the heart with longing.
A great adventure awaits.
The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta is in full swing. Vendors fill the streets, music is in the air, and a festive spirit pervades. But last night we took the boys to see one of my favorite parts: Night Glow. The balloons were lined up on Magic Island. That is what it was for me: magic. Balloons have always captured my imagination, lifting my spirits as their bright colors rise into the sky. Last night was no different. The Kanawha River was filled with boaters, reveling in the sight.
As the sun sank lower in the sky, the flames lit the balloons like night lights. The promise was fulfilled: Night Glow. Water shimmered, sky deepened. Hearts warmed.
But no adventure is complete without ice cream.
