31-ish Days of Prayer: An Artist’s Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit, you who knows the secrets of the heart.
Anoint my lips with grace, let my art be a river whose streams
make glad the city of God; let the work of my hands

perpetuate your memory through all generations. Send
forth your light and your truth, let them guide me. Put
your song in me. By the light of your face grant me victory.

My life is but a breath and all my longings lie open before you,
O Lord. Let my art be the place where those longings
and your great love and desire for me meet. Fill my heart

with the fire of your love. That all who look and see
will know that you are God of the universe.
In the holy name of Jesus, Amen.

–inspired by my reading this morning: Psalm 38-45.

I’m so glad, Mary. It’s so nice to see you here! I hope you are doing well and life is treating you kindly. I haven’t written any more about Klaio :). Thank you for asking, that is so sweet. I’m working on my first nonfiction book right now…almost done! Much love to you across the seas!
